What do you think of this US Healthcare alternative?

How about this: A federally chartered, single payer, publicly funded, non profit, fully transparent, continually monitored HEALTH INSURANCE company just like Medicare? Simple as a stone...no ups, no extras? Medical liability is a separate issue...it has nothing to do with insurance. By eliminating private insurance you eliminate the 43 cents per premium dollar that goes to overhead and profit. Medicare thrives on a 3 cents per premium dollar for overhead and zero for profit....a savings of 40 cents per premium dollar....and nobody is dropped or smacked in the kisser with a big NO because of a pre-existiing condition. How about government contracts for all medications...like the VA? At the VA a veteran can get a 90 day supply of almost any medication for $8.00 because the federal government buys in bulk. Talk about savings...we're talking billions of billions! Any other other plan is just giving away the store to the HEALTH INSURANCE mafia. Give that think!
