Why do people keep saying that Obama is a "self made" man?

He would be nothing if it were not for Affirmative action and Gov. jobs...there was nothing exceptional about him, until a white funded American program (Affirmative Action a.k.a. United ***** Fund) got him accepted to school, paid for the whole trip, then hired him to be a community organizer...He never practiced law, He NEVER had a job, how does that make him self made?...
