Cute ways to ask a guy to a dance?

Alright so my school is having a Sadie Hawkins style dance this coming saturday. If I ask this guy, I have to ask him tomorrow. otherwise it might be too late. So I don't talk to him that much, like I've talked to him a little on Facebook and in cl but not much because I get really shy when I talk to guys. So what are some cute ways that I can ask him? I am a freshman in highschool. My sister says that since he likes soccer, I should break into his locker and buy a soccer ball and write on it. Sound good? Or what are some other ideas?
