How can there be an afterlife when there's not one person in this world, not even Shirley McLaine to prove?

that it exists? How can the 6.7 billion people in the world all be living for the first time. If there were an afterlife, there would be people alive for whom this would not be their first and only life. You would have people living everything from their first life up their 10,000th life. That to me definitely disproves life after death. There's no way everything would be so brutally mundane if an afterlife exists. We'd have a collective consciousness and not just be conscious within each of our own encapsulated brains. and why would we jump straight from a stagnant world to nirvana in the afterlife.Wouldn't there be intermediate steps in between.
