If we were ever in contact with aliens what would it be like in your oppinion?

If we ever find life on another planet, we will see it as a chemical signature in the atmosphere. If there were aliens (for which there is not a single bit of physical evidence) who were searching for life, they would see the signature of oxygen in our atmosphere. Actual physical contact is extremely improbable given the distances. In any event, humans would go back to life as usual.
