Why is maida bad and wheat not so. how does the refining process make it so obnoxious?

umm isnt maida the hindi work for flour? so dun that mean maida is plain flour? never knew that thanx for asking htis question ...;) but honesty i dont prefer indian maida...the bread turned out ...:(
